Barbra has thoughtfully crafted this 50 hour program to share her most valuable self-care tools with you. Her own experiences with exhaustion, overworking, and "doing and giving too much" inspired her journey into Ayurvedic self-care, helping her discover a healthier balance between output and input.
This training is an opportunity to immerse yourself in practices that support your emotional, physical, and mental well-being. You will experience a thoughtfully designed daily schedule that balances learning, practicing, resting, and relaxing.
Our location, The Shala Bali, is a beautiful retreat center and peaceful haven. Nestled among lush rice fields and jungle, we are just a short drive from the vibrant heart of Ubud.
The facilities include a charming café where we will enjoy nourishing meals together, a swimming pool, and a spa offering Ayurvedic treatments and traditional Balinese massage.
Self-care is a deeply personal practice rooted in understanding your individuality and how to nourish yourself on all levels: body, mind, and soul.
Over time, not only do our bodies and hormone levels change, but our priorities, needs, and interests evolve too. As women, we can intelligently adapt and adjust our yoga practice to holistically support our transition into the wiser, more mature stages of life.
You will gain practical and personalized insights into taking care of your physical health, nurturing your nervous system, supporting your emotional and psychological well-being, and cultivating a resilient and healthy mindset—even during challenging times.
This training is intended as a precious gift to yourself that will continue to support you long after the 10 days are over. You will leave with inspiration, knowledge, and effective tools to seamlessly integrate holistic self-care practices into your daily life.
Each day will begin with silence, pranayama, and meditation, followed by a nourishing breakfast. You will then enjoy a two-hour yoga practice.
A three-hour lunch break gives you plenty of 'me time' to relax, visit the spa, or enjoy the swimming pool.
In the afternoons, Barbra and her guest teachers, Kay and Tina, will guide you through enriching topics and practices for self-care.
During your eight night stay at The Shala Bali, five evening meals are included in your accommodation package. On 4 of these evenings, dinner will be followed by either a Dharma talk or Sharing Circle led by Barbra. Two evenings will be free for you to explore Ubud's many fine restaurants. On one day we will visit a water temple and that evening enjoy a final celebration dinner at a restaurant in town.

This training is open to women who feel a strong desire to deepen their knowledge of self-care and gain an expanded understanding of their individuality from an Ayurvedic perspective.
We recommend that you have prior experience with immersive-style yoga trainings, such as a 200-hour teacher training in any style or school. Alternatively, you have been practicing yoga regularly for a minimum of two years and are seeking an opportunity to study intensively for 10 days.
If you do not have the above background but feel drawn to this training, we warmly invite you to contact us. We’d be happy to arrange a 15-minute call with Barbra to discuss whether this is the right training to suit your needs and goals.
There is a limited number of rooms. To create a harmonious experience for all participants and keep this unique training affordable, we offer only twin-share rooms. This arrangement not only fosters a sense of community but also enhances the collaborative spirit of our shared time together.
You can sign up with a friend to share a room, or, if you are traveling alone, we will happily pair you with a suitable roommate to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Many participants have made lasting friendships this way, adding even more joy to their retreat experience.
When you register for the training, we will provide you with The Shala Bali room list, complete with photos, to help you choose your room. You can also explore all the rooms and their details under the "Accommodation" section at www.theshalabali.com.
A laundry service is available at an additional charge.
Our program includes a 3 hour lunch break from 12:00 – 3:00 PM, so that you have time to book appointments at the Darshana Veda Spa. See the spa menu here.
After you receive the detailed schedule from us, we recommend you book your appointments 1 – 2 weeks before the training starts.

Once you have contacted us about registration, we will send you Barbra's Bali Guide as a PDF.
This is packed with information to make planning your trip easy.
Step 1: Send us an email to office@barbranohyoga.com to tell us you are in!
Step 2: Receive all relevant information and the above mentioned documents. Read them carefully.
Step 3: Choose your room and contact The Shala Bali to book your accommodation and meal package.
Step 4: Make your USD payment to The Shala Bali, to their Indonesian account, within 7 days to secure your place on the training. This payment is non-refundable.
Step 5: Once your room at The Shala Bali is confirmed and paid for in USD, make your EUR payment for the training to our EUR account in Europe. There is a non-refundable deposit of EUR 108. You can choose to pay the training fee in one payment, or pay the deposit and make the final payment later. See all details in our Terms and Conditions.
Step 6: Book your flights as soon as possible. We’ll send you advice on how to book online as cheaply as possible. Due to the long journey, the adjustment to a new time zone and to the tropical climate, we strongly advice you arrive 2 – 3 days prior to the training starting. Please make sure you are well rested and ready for our 10 day journey. If you are in need of peace and quiet, avoid Kuta, Seminyak and especially Canggu. If you want a beach, we can recommend Sanur which is half way between the airport and Ubud, or just settle into Ubud.
Step 7: Inform yourself about visa regulations for your nationality. Check the validity of your passport – it must be valid for a further 6 months after your intended stay. Indonesia does not accept entry if passports are damaged or soon to expire. For nearly all passports a Visa On Arrival (VOA) is available at Denpasar airport.
Step 8: Ensure you have international travel health insurance. Consider if you also want general travel insurance to cover cancellations and lost baggage.
Step 9: Inform The Shala Bali of your arrival time at Denpasar airport if you are coming directly to The Shala Bali. Assuming you will be staying elsewhere for a couple of days before we meet at The Shala Bali, arrange your airport transfer with your hotel/resort.
Step 10: Join our WhatsApp group for this training. Meet the fabulous women embarking on this journey. Share thoughts, questions and airport taxis. You will need WhatsApp (WA) for Bali. Everything is done via WA from hotel bookings to restaurant bookings and visa extensions.
Step 11: Share this training with another woman who you think needs something like this right now. You can even choose to be roommates.
